FCS is a christian organization which nondenominational and autonomous of the conventional church administration
BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF FCS
FCS is an acronym which stands for fellowship of Christian students.
FCS is an interdenominational fellowship in schools and campuses which unites all Christian students from all denomination.
It was inaugurated in 30th April 1957.
It teaches Christ as the only lord and savior and encourage in-dept study and conformity to the word and personal faith in Christ.
ASSOCIATE FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN STUDENTS
The AFCS is an arm of FCS that comprise of ex-FCS members, patrons, Christian teachers and other interested responsible Christian whose major responsibilities are:
A) To provide leadership for the ministry at zonal,state,and national level
B) To organise conference, rallies, training and other relevant programs for the students
C)To visit students in school (BRANCH
secondary and tertiary) for the purpose of evangelism and displeship.
D) To provide financial and other necessary support for the ministry.
*The AFCS members meet regularly for fellowehip,to nourish themselves,pray for the student and plan their activities.
*After graduation,an FCS member is encouraged to join the associates fellowship of Christian students.
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
I. Each FCS branch has its own student committee to plan activities at the branch level.
II. Every branch belongs to a zone with a zonal commitee (zonal officials and presidents and secretaries of all branch in the zone) that is responsible for coordinating activities of the branches and for zonal activities like rallies, training courses, conferences, etc.
III. All the zones in the state make up the state FCS, each state has a committee which is responsible for state activities such as conferences, camps and committee training courses. It also runs that state office of the FCS.
IV. All the state and FCT (Abuja) atmre categorized into areas headed by area committees, which are:
A. Abuja (FCT, Kogi, Kwara and Niger)
B. Adamawa (Adamawa, Gombe and taraba)
C. Kaduna (jigawa, Kaduna, kano and katsina)
D. Nasarawa(Benue, Plateau and nasarawa)
E. Sokoto( kebbi, sokoto and zamfara)
F. Yobe( Bauchi, borno and yobw).
We also have three mission areas
- South East ( Anambra, Enugu, ebonyi, Imo and abia)
- South south(cross river, bayelsa, akwa ibom, rivers, Edo and delta)
- South West (ondo, Ogun, Lagos, osun, ekiti and Oyo
G. A national council with representative from each of the area, meets twice annually, its responsible for the general policy making of the fellowship.
AFCS KIRIKASAMA BRANCH
AFCS Kirkasama branch is an associates fellowship of Christian students branch based in kirkasama, Maiduguri, borno state.
